Eduardo Skinner

Born in Salamanca, Spain, Eduardo developed an early interest in visual expression that would later crystallise into a dedicated pursuit of photography. He formalised his training at the Art School of Salamanca, where he specialised in image-making and photography, building a strong technical and conceptual foundation in the discipline. Committed to refining his craft, Eduardo devoted himself primarily to black-and-white analogue photography during his formative years. He spent countless hours in the darkroom, mastering the full photographic process—from exposure to chemical development and fine printing. This period shaped his sensitivity to light, contrast, texture, and composition, and instilled in him a deep respect for the materiality and discipline of traditional photographic practice. In the years immediately following art school, Eduardo worked extensively as a freelance photographer. His assignments ranged from weddings and private commissions to photojournalistic projects, experiences that strengthened both his technical versatility and his ability to respond creatively to diverse contexts and narratives. These professional engagements allowed him to balance documentary precision with aesthetic intention. In 2006, Eduardo relocated to London, where he began working in the health insurance sector. Although this marked a professional shift, photography remained central to his identity. During this period, his artistic focus evolved towards a more personal and exploratory approach. While continuing to engage with traditional genres such as landscape and wildlife photography, he also embraced digital processes and image manipulation, integrating contemporary techniques into his visual language. This phase represented an expansion rather than a departure—combining analogue discipline with digital experimentation. Eduardo has presented his work in several exhibitions, both solo and as part of collective shows, consolidating his presence within artistic circles. He currently resides in the north of Spain, where the dramatic Cantabrian Sea and the lush green landscapes of Asturias provide constant inspiration.
